Glossybox July 2013 //Seaside Splash

So this is is my final Glossybox ....for the time being.. as I ordered a package of three, though I shall be reordering ...but anyway...
Beautiful 'Seaside Splash' themed box
When I saw the theme of this box on the Glossybox website, I actually let out a little shriek!!  And it did not disappoint!!  Though my box was a little damaged, though that might have something to do with Hermes throwing it over my gate!!  Luckily there were no breakables inside and my beautiful box has minimal damage!!
Themed paper and lovely blue ribbon
I dont know if anyone else found this but, when I saw on Facebook/ Instagram these boxes were being dispatched on Friday, I was excited to receive mine the next day (like last month) but no dispatch email arrived ....booo....Sat in the back garden on Saturday afternoon when I hear a thud and HELLO GLOSSYBOX ...which I found very odd, and I have only actually received my dispatch email today .....three days after receiving it????  Ohh well!  On to the box, and I'm not going to lie, I used all of these product on day one!!

 What I received:

  1. Alterna Haircare- Bamboo Style Boho Waves Tousled Texture Mist
  2. Pukka Ayurveda- Radiance Serum
  3. Ciate London Paint Pot
  4. Coola Orgainic Suncare Collection- Mineral Face SPF 20 Rose Essence Tint
  5. Anatomicals- Spray misty for me facial spritz

The first item I spotted and loved was the Ciate paint pot in 'Pocket Money'  this is one of the new shades from the summer collection and is a full sized product worth £9.00 so already a good value box.  I will save my review on this for a NOTD post, so stay tuned for that!  The next product that grabbed my attention was the Anatomicals facial mist, another full sized product at 100ml worth £6.00, I used it instantly then and there after unboxing in the baking heat of my back garden and it is lovely and refreshing.  It has a mixture of scents between peppermint for refreshment and lavender for calming and soothing.  You can use this under of over make up, I have been using it before moisturising in the morning, though I haven't tried it over make up.  I feel it will be great to take with you anywhere in this lovely weather to cool down a little or on an airplane for a little pick me up!!

As for the next products, I have not heard of any of them.  I will start with the serum by Pukka Ayurveda, which should be applied before moisturising.  I have used this a couple of times simply because I keep forgetting to put it on before moisturising.  it have Manuka Honey in it which grabbed my attention and it actually looks honey in colour.  It is a really soft and kind to the skin and is enriched with aloe vera and lemon balm to brighten your complexion.  So far I like it but will reserve judgement on whether I feel the need to go and buy it.

The Coola Mineral Face Tint is also quite nice, I like that it has SPF 20 in it, great for seaside sun bathers and city slickers alike, it is a good colour for my skin tone so I was happy with that.  It also claims to sooth and tone skin whilst minimising pores, I do feel my skin looks much better after application of this, and seem quite even and shine free which is a bonus.  Its ingredients include Evening Primrose Oil to reduce inflammation and it doesn't smell to bad either, until other tinted moisturisers I have had in the past!!

Finally a haircare product by Alterna Haircare, another brand I am unaware of.  This is supposed to give your a hair a nice, natural, beachy tousled style.  you can apply to damp or dry hair and then scrunch.  I applied this to damp hair and used a good finger width of product from the bottle.  I did get a bit of a wave but nothing extra ordinary  that I couldn't have done minus the product.  I must say it did a better job than last months Paul Mitchell products.  But seeing as though I have a bob not much longer than chin length, I feel I used a lot of product with not much results, other than a bit of a crispy crown where I had obviously got too close.  But I need to try it on dry hair before I slate it too much!
Overall, quite a good box, though looking at others, I feel it is a little unfair some people got two full sized lip glosses, giving them 6 products!  Oh well, I love having this surprise each month, on to the next one....

July Wishlist

I have started racking up quite the wish list this last few days so I thought I would share it with you!!  You will quickly realise there is a lot of Caudalie in here .....:-P
Image: Caudalie
Caudalie Beauty Elixir £11.50
This has had no end of good reviews, from experts to Joe Bloggs, you all love it and I want to try it!!  It looks like a seriously great all rounder for toning and rehydrating the skin, both on fresh skin or over the top of make up.  Im pretty sure I saw a sample size of this in a Glossybox a longgg time ago, gutted I wasn't a subscriber then!!!  Without even trying this product I can just tell it will be a staple product!!
Image: Caudalie
 Caudalie Crushed Cabernet Scrub -£21.50
I have no idea why I have such a strong desire to own this product but I do and I will, it just looks fab!! I bet it smells great too!!
Image: Caudalie
Caudalie Divine Legs £26.00
Another fab Caudalie product which I have heard so much about!!  Seems quite pricey but I have seen review and leg comparisons before and after.....looks GORGEOUS!!!  And so natural too!!  I think to give your pins a treat its well worth a punt, £26.00 or not...
Image: Glossybox USA
Glossybox USA Wedding Box $40.00
I have no idea how I stumbled upon this but its bloody genius and Glossybox UK needs to get on to this right away!!! ....Well, at least in time for my November 2014 wedding!!  Same as a normal Glossybox but you can buy it as a one off, don't have to be a subscriber, you receive 5 products as usual but receive an extra treat too.  you can purchase one or in bundles of three, six or twelve for you and you wedding party!!  I would love these for myself, bridesmaids and Mother of the Bride and Groom, in fact, I shall be getting in touch with Glossy UK about this ASAP!!!

Image: Selfridges

Selfridges The Beauty Box £25.00
I would really love to try this, just to say I have though I have read many past reviews to say people were disappointed with this, especially with it being a lot more expensive than your average subscription box at £25.00.  This particular edition is focusing on festival season, although I don't attend any festivals, I go camping on a regular basis, this may appeal to me, but who knows???

So, now I have made myself sad looking at all the things I want and cant afford because I am a poor, poor student, I will get back to worrying about the assignment I desperately need to start!!!  See you soon......

NEOM Organic Hand Cream

I was quite excited to see this little 50ml sized hand cream as a free gift with Conde Nast Traveller magazine last month!!  I have been wanting to try the NEOM brand for a while now but, you know, being  student and all that ....I hadn't managed to get round to doing it!!

As some one who suffers from dry hands a lot due to my job, this was a great first product for me to try from their range and I can really put it to the test!

Im not going to go into massive detail with this, but in a nutshell ...its FABULOUS!   This is  available in a couple of scents, mine being 'Complete Bliss: Moroccan Blush Rose' which suits me down to the ground, I love middle and far eastern scents.  Also available is, 'Inspiration: Violet, Chamomile and Cedarwood'.

It is an odd colour, as it is green, I don't know about you guys, but I was expecting either white or pink??  You only need the smallest amount to cover your hands throughly and it sinks in like a dream!! Is quite thin once you start rubbing it in.  Something I cant stand for 'middle of the day hand creams' is really thick textures that don't sink in quickly and make it hard work to hold your brew!!!  But this is none of that.... it is the queen of hand moisturisation in my opinion right now!!! (Is 'moisturisation' even a word??  Not according to my spell  check  ...Who cares?!!)

This is a great freebie at 50mls as a full size from NEOM is 75mls and £20!!

There is a whole range of NEOM Complete Bliss products which you can find after the jump -LINK

The words in this review are all my own, there is no endorsement from NEOM behind this post.

Glossybox June 2013 //Summer Looks

I know what you are all thinking ...Haven't you just reviewed a Glossybox???  ...Well, yes!!  But I signed up mid May meaning there hasn't been a big gap between the two boxes ...which I'm not complaining about ....!!
First of all I have to tell you how my opinion has changed slightly on the Hermes delivery service since the last box ....Apart from the fact I didn't really like their online tracking system (if you haven't used them before its hard to understand!)  Last month I received my dispatch email from Glossybox, a week later it arrived, this this month I received the email at 23:40 Friday night and received the box at 08:50 Saturday morning the next day!!!  I would say that is pretty supers service so I would like to thank both companies for that!!!!

Now on to the box.....

  1. Nuxe- Huile Prodigieuse OR
  2. Monu Professional Skincare -Hydrating Moisturiser SPF 15
  3. Figs & Rouge Coco Rose
  4. Paul Mitchell Curls - Full Circle Leave-In Treatment and Ultimate Wave
  5. Q -Body Spray
Overall, again I am pretty happy with this box, I have two clear favourites so far, number one being the Nuxe oil!!  It is gorgeous and looks great in the amazing weather we have been having recently!!  ..She says as it is now raining outside BOO... but I have been using this only on my face so far for a great summer glow!  It is a dry oil and doesn't leave you looking greasy which is great and it smells gorgeous!!  I would definitely consider purchasing this in a full size though at 10ml I have used it nearly everyday since Saturday and theres hardly a dint in it which is great!!  I also received an oil in May's box in the form of Caudalie Divine Oil,  I must say I prefer the smell of the Caudalie, but I do really like the Nuxe too!!
I am also loving the Figs & Rouge Coco Rose Lip Balm too, super subtle sheen for your lips, and can apparently be used in other areas to moisturise as well as being use on the eye lids according to the accompanying leaflet, though I cant say I have tried this.  It looks super summery when applied, my only fault with it is that it doesn't last very long.  I will probably go through this quite quickly at 12.5ml this is a full sized product worth £5.00.
Q: Balance Body Spray, I cant say I have heard heard of this brand, nor seen it on the shelves, but it does smell lovely!!  I have been keeping this in my handbag for a bit of a spritz on the go.  I must say, I wasn't expecting this in the box but it is nice, "A floral harmony of Iris and Mimosa, Romantic, soft and sensuous"  I do love the Mimosa smell.  This is another full size at 100ml worth £2.29  I probably would repurchase this if I was to see it, take it away on my many camping trips etc.

Paul Mitchell Curls, I have used both of these products once and I will reserve judgement on these until I have put them to the test again ...but they didn't really do anything for me, im not even sure why I was sent these to be honest but I'm not complaining ...I shall try agin....

Finally Monu Hydrating Moisturiser, which I actually haven't tried yet, I got a moisturiser in May's box in the form of L'Occitane Angelica Hydration Cream which I really loved so I just hope this is as good, though with SPF 15 it is probably going to be great summer staple!!

The only thing I did find bizarre about this months box is the packaging, for 'Summer Looks', it was pretty doom and gloom with the black tissue paper and black bed of paper which the products sat on ...but oh well, looking forward to July's box already!!

Oh my gosh!!!  The first year anniversary of this blog has come and gone and I haven't noticed.  I feel so bad a mare who has rejected its foal, I thought the anniversary of the Beauty Satchel was some time this month, maybe even next month but it was the beginning of May, OOPS!!

After a year of being SEMI-active, SEMI being the main word there, I dont feel I have kept this blog updated as much as I should have or as much as I planned to when I first started it.  Though as you all know, life just takes over sometimes!!  I hope to provide you with much more in its second year!!

Thinking about it now, it was nice that I received my first Glossybox, second birthday box at that, at the same time as my year anniversary as I was looking forward to signing up for a subscription box for a long time !!

So this is just a post to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY BEAUTY SATCHEL and see you all soon!!

NOTD- Twisted Silk

I promised you a NOTD from the nail polish I received in May's Glossybox and here it is!!

This is a gorgeous pink/ almost lilac, a lovely spring time colour.  It is noticeable but not in your face.  The picture I have attached is two coats on top of a base coat, but one coat is enough to be opaque, I have not yet applied a top coat in the picture.

I have never heard of Headline Colours before, so it was nice to try a new brand, I really love this polish and it wears quite well too, I have had this on for three days now, hands in and out the washing bowl, showers etc, so its doing pretty well, I'm impressed!!

I look forward to trying more from this brand soon!!

Glossybox May 2013 [My first box!]

GOOD MORNING BEAUTY LOVERS!!!  I was awoken to to sound of my doorbell at 9.30am this morning, knowing it was my FIRST EVER Glossybox I was out of bed like a shot ....It took me a good few minute to open the door though as we have Fort Knox'ed it, I was worried she would leave, but she didn't, yay!!

I know I am a bit late to the party with this, as the usual subscribers got theirs ages ago, though I only signed up for May's box after everyone had received theirs, so I have had plenty of time to snoop around and see what everyone got in theirs this time, but I'm not doing that again, its going to be a secret from now on!!
With this being my first box, I was going to photograph as I open it but I was just too excited, so I've peeked and then took pics, sorry!
So on to the box, I think I joined at a good time, to get in on their 2nd birthday, there has been quite a bit of negativity surrounding this box I have noticed, but I am quite happy with what I received....

  1. Caudalie Divine Oil
  2. L'Occitane En Provence Angelica Hydration Cream
  3. Beautiful Movements Cosmetics Prime & Create Mixing Medium
  4. Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara
  5. Headline Colours Poolside Party Nail Polish in Twisted Silk
  6. Glossybox Nail Files
Maybe I just havent been around long enough yet to understand the issues here?  I am super happy with the Caudalie oil, a brand I have been wanting to try for a long time, but never seen it on the shelves.  I have read and heard so so much hype about this brand so I am excited to try this oil all rounder for hair, face and body.

L'Occitane, I have used some of their products before, which I have loved, this sample is not one of them so I am happy with this and looking forward to trying that.  Beautiful Movements Prime and Create Mixing Medium, looks an interesting one, created my PussyCat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, you can use this as a primer, or mix it with blush and eye shadow etc, a lot you can do with that!

Jelly Pong Pong, another brand I would have tried before, should I have actually seen it around, I haven't, so a nice full-size mascara for me to use here and a fullsize nail polish by Headline Colours, I love the shade, really spring/ summery whilst being subtle too, I will do a NOTD on this ASAP, I havent painted my nails this week as I have been anticipating getting a nail polish in this box.

And of course, in honour of Glossybox's 2nd birthday, a matchbook of 20 nail fails, awesome for my handbag!!

Overall I am really happy with this box and I hope things can only get better as I await June!!

(You can see reviews of these products as I try them or in an empties post no doubt!)

P.S. I just LOVEEE this pink ribbon/ party paper combo.  SUPER CUTE!!
